  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (15 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup crushed gingersnap cookies
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup caramel sauce.
  4. In a small bowl, combine chopped pecans, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and cloves.
  5. In a small saucepan, whisk together apple cider, cornstarch, granulated sugar, water, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in chopped walnuts.
  6. To assemble the trifle, spread a layer of crushed graham crackers and gingersnap cookies at the bottom of a trifle dish.
  7. Layer half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookie crumbs.
  8. Drizzle half of the caramel-sweetened condensed milk mixture over the cream cheese.
  9. Spoon half of the spiced apple mixture over the caramel layer.
  10. Sprinkle half of the spiced pecan mixture over the apples.
  11. Repeat the layers: cookie crumbs, cream cheese mixture, caramel mixture, apple mixture, and pecan mixture.
  12. Chill the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving.
  13. Top with whipped cream and extra caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

  • For a quicker assembly, you can use store-bought caramel sauce.
  • Adjust the spices in the apple mixture to your preference.
  • If you don’t have a trifle dish, you can layer the dessert in individual glasses or a large bowl.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth filling.
