Assemble a fresh, simple Caprese salad using sweet cherry tomatoes, creamy burrata cheese, and fresh basil. This no-cook appetizer comes together quickly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 (8 ounce) ball burrata cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the halved cherry tomatoes in a medium bowl.
  2. Gently tear the burrata cheese into several large pieces and arrange them among the tomatoes.
  3. Scatter the fresh basil leaves over the tomatoes and burrata.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  5. Drizzle the dressing evenly over the salad ingredients.
  6. If using, drizzle the balsamic glaze lightly over the top for added sweetness.
  7. Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • For best flavor, let the assembled salad sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Use high-quality olive oil for the best taste.
  • You can substitute fresh oregano for some of the basil if desired.
