Make rich, decadent toast by pan-frying thick slices of brioche bread filled with melted chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 thick slices brioche bread
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate chips between the two slices of brioche bread, creating a sandwich. Press lightly.
  2. Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Place the brioche sandwich in the skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the chocolate inside is melted and gooey.
  4. Remove the toast from the skillet. Let it cool for one minute.
  5. Carefully separate the two slices. Slice the toast diagonally.
  6. Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
  • You can add a small amount of cinnamon to the melted butter for an added spice note.
  • Serve with a side of fresh berries or a drizzle of maple syrup.
