Ingredients
Scale
3 large apples (Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp work well)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C).
Wash and dry the apples.
Slice the apples very thinly, about 1/16 inch thick. A mandoline slicer is helpful for uniform slices.
Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Ensure the slices do not overlap.
Sprinkle the cinnamon evenly over the apple slices.
Bake for 2 to 3 hours, or until the edges are slightly browned and the chips are dry and crisp. Flip the slices halfway through the baking time.
Turn off the oven and let the chips cool completely in the oven with the door slightly ajar. This helps them crisp up further.
Once cooled, store the apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
For best results, use firm apples.
Adjust baking time based on your oven and the thickness of your apple slices.
If you don’t have a mandoline, a sharp knife can be used, but aim for consistency.
