Make a quick and delicious fruit pizza using store-bought sugar cookie dough and a simple cream cheese frosting. This is a perfect, easy fruit dessert for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (16.5 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Assorted fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, mandarin oranges recommended)
  • Optional: Sliced almonds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Press the refrigerated sugar cookie dough evenly onto the prepared pan to form a large, flat cookie crust.
  3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. You want the center set but not overly browned.
  4. Remove the cookie crust from the oven and let it cool completely on the pan. This step is important for the frosting.
  5. While the crust cools, prepare the cream cheese fruit pizza frosting. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Beat until the frosting is light and creamy.
  7. Once the cookie crust is fully cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top, leaving a small border if you like.
  8. Arrange your fresh fruit decoratively over the frosting. Create patterns or simply cover the surface entirely. This is where you can get creative!
  9. If desired, sprinkle sliced almonds over the fruit.
  10. Chill the fruit pizza for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For mini fruit pizza versions, press small rounds of dough onto a baking sheet and bake according to package directions, then frost and top individually.
  • If your cream cheese is too cold, the frosting will be lumpy. Let it sit out for about 30 minutes before mixing.
  • Pat very wet fruits, like sliced strawberries, lightly with a paper towel before placing them on the frosting to prevent the frosting from thinning out.
