Enjoy a gourmet twist on homemade pizza with this recipe for grilled Margherita pizza, topped with creamy burrata cheese. Perfect for impressing guests at your next barbecue or pizza night, it features a delicious charred crust, fresh tomatoes, and basil.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces burrata cheese, torn into pieces
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle.
  3. Brush one side of the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic.
  4. Carefully place the dough, oiled-side down, onto the preheated grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and has grill marks.
  5. Flip the dough and grill the other side for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove the dough from the grill and place it on a clean surface.
  7. Spread the drained diced tomatoes evenly over the grilled dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  8. Arrange the fresh mozzarella slices over the tomatoes.
  9. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  10. Return the pizza to the grill and close the lid. Grill for another 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Remove the pizza from the grill. Top with the torn burrata cheese pieces and fresh basil leaves.
  12. Drizzle with a final touch of olive oil and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure your grill grates are clean to prevent sticking.
  • For a crispier crust, you can pre-bake the dough for an extra minute on each side.
  • Adjust the amount of toppings to your preference.
