Create your own fun and healthy fruit roll-ups at home! This recipe shows you how to turn fresh fruit into delightful, chewy rolls, perfect for a preservative-free snack that kids will love. Ethan and Chloe from Recipes Fleet share their simple method for making these sweet treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen fruit (like strawberries, mangoes, or peaches), thawed if frozen
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to its lowest setting, around 170°F (75°C).
  2. If using frozen fruit, thaw it completely.
  3. Place the fruit in a blender or food processor.
  4. Add honey or maple syrup and lemon juice if you are using them.
  5. Blend until the fruit is completely smooth and pureed.
  6. Pour the fruit puree onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  7. Spread the puree evenly into a thin layer, about 1/8 inch thick, using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
  8. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven.
  9. Bake for 4-8 hours, or until the fruit leather is firm and no longer sticky to the touch. The exact time will depend on your oven and the thickness of the fruit layer.
  10. Once baked, carefully remove the fruit leather from the oven.
  11. Let it cool completely on the baking sheet.
  12. Once cool, peel the fruit leather off the parchment paper or mat.
  13. Cut the fruit leather into strips.
  14. Roll up each strip to create your fruit roll-ups.

Notes

  • You can use a variety of fruits, or a combination of fruits, for different flavors.
  • Ensure the fruit leather is completely dry before rolling to prevent sticking.
  • Store the fruit roll-ups in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or refrigerate for longer storage.
