- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pat the chicken breasts completely dry with paper towels. This helps the crust adhere and crisp up.
- In a small bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, pepper, and salt.
- Lightly brush both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil.
- Press the Parmesan mixture firmly onto both sides of the oiled chicken breasts, creating an even coating.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
- Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the cooking time.
- Check the internal temperature; the chicken is done when it reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from the air fryer and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the top of the Parmesan crust with cooking spray before the final 5 minutes of cooking.
- If your breasts are very thick, pound them to an even thickness (about 3/4 inch) before coating to promote even cooking.
- Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of your chicken pieces.
