Create charming, individual peach crumbles baked right in mason jars. This recipe offers a delightful way to enjoy seasonal peaches with a sweet, crumbly topping, perfect for picnics or thoughtful gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 4 (8-ounce) mason jars

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, gently toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, lemon juice, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg. Divide the peach mixture evenly among the four mason jars.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add the cold butter cubes to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry blender or your fingertips to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Spoon the crumble topping evenly over the peach mixture in each jar.
  6. Place the mason jars on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the crumbles cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can add a pinch of cardamom to the peach mixture for an extra layer of flavor.
  • If you don’t have fresh peaches, frozen peaches (thawed and drained) also work well.
  • For a richer crumble, sprinkle a few chopped pecans or walnuts over the topping before baking.
