A light and elegant fruit salad featuring fresh seasonal fruit lightly dressed with honey and fragrant orange blossom water.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups strawberries, halved or quartered
  • 2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 nectarines, sliced
  • 1 orange, segmented
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons liquid honey
  • 1 teaspoon orange blossom water
  • 1 tablespoon shelled pistachios, roughly chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare all the fruit: halve or quarter the strawberries, slice the nectarines, and segment the orange. Place all prepared fruit in a large bowl.
  2. In a small separate bowl, whisk together the liquid honey and the orange blossom water until combined.
  3. Pour the honey-blossom mixture evenly over the fruit. Gently toss the fruit to coat everything lightly.
  4. Add the chopped fresh mint leaves and toss once more.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, sprinkle the chopped pistachios over the top for texture and color.

Notes

  • Start with only 1 teaspoon of orange blossom water; this ingredient is strong and a little goes a long way.
  • Use fruits that are in season for the best flavor. Citrus, stone fruit, and berries pair well with the floral notes.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute the honey with maple syrup for a vegan option.
