Make this creamy, zesty, and bold remoulade sauce quickly for seafood, sandwiches, or fries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Creole mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Creole or Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (like Tabasco)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion (scallion)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, Creole mustard, ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, paprika, Creole seasoning, and hot sauce in a medium bowl.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Stir in the chopped green onion, parsley, and minced garlic.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed, adding more hot sauce or seasoning for extra kick.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the remoulade for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add 1/2 teaspoon of finely chopped capers or a dash of cayenne pepper.
  • This sauce tastes best after chilling for several hours.
  • You can substitute Dijon mustard for Creole mustard if necessary, but the flavor profile will change slightly.
