Create a fun, healthy treat that tastes like Sour Patch Kids using frozen grapes and a tangy coating. It’s a simple candy hack made from fruit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups seedless grapes, washed and dried
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon citric acid (or lemon juice)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon flavored gelatin powder (for extra flavor and color)

Instructions

  1. Place the washed and dried grapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Ensure they are in a single layer and not touching.
  2. Freeze the grapes for at least 2-3 hours, or until solid.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, citric acid, and optional gelatin powder.
  4. Once the grapes are frozen solid, remove them from the freezer.
  5. Working quickly, add a few frozen grapes at a time to the bowl with the sugar mixture. Toss gently to coat them evenly.
  6. Return the coated grapes to the parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze again for at least 30 minutes to set the coating.
  7. Serve the Sour Patch Frozen Grapes immediately.

Notes

  • Citric acid provides the signature sour punch. If you don’t have it, lemon juice can be used, but the sourness will be less intense.
  • For different flavors, experiment with different colored and flavored gelatin powders.
  • Make sure grapes are completely dry before freezing to prevent ice crystals.
